This can be done using a variety of different mediums and learners are encouraged to make their own choices how they want to complete the project. What did a medieval feast look like? Where did medieval peasants live? How did someone become a knight? Join me in this 4 week flex class as we explore life in Europe in the middle ages (with a focus on England). Each week will focus on a different theme. Lessons will be conducted via video and Nearpod (an easily accessible online platform) and different challenges will be given using NearPod.

What are the Middle Ages?
This week, we will explore the timeline of the middle ages and examine the different names used for the time period (middle ages, medieval period, dark ages). We will learn about some changes and major events that happened over the course of 1000 years and learn about the strict social structure of feudalism.
課 2:
What was life like as a medieval peasant?
This week, learners will discover what it was like to be a peasant in the middle ages. We will explore what people ate, what their houses were like, what they wore and what a typical medieval day was like. Learners will work together to annotate an image of a medieval house.
課 3:
Knights and Castles
This week, we will learn about what life was like as a knight. We will explore how people became knights, what they wore and the importance of coats of arms. We will take a virtual tour of a castle
課 4:
Kings, Queens and Royalty
This week, learners will explore what life was like for medieval lords and ladies. They will explore the foods they ate, the activities they took part in and what a lord or lady did all day.

Each week students will be given a project to do. This will use a variety of different tools, depending on what the learner chooses - for example they could choose to paint or use play dough - learners can use whatever they have access to. No specialist equipment is needed.
