This course is designed for small communities of learners and is a hybrid of individualized tutoring and traditional instruction covering middle school science content. Learners will understand the scientific method. Learners will understand key ideas of experiment design. Learners will understand the parts of a scientific article. Learners will be able to create a research paper and presentation.
I have done research at the bachelors and masters level. I completed three research internships and won numerous awards for my presentation of both undergraduate and masters thesis. I have served as a research assistant and taught science to middle-grade learners in a variety of settings over the past ten years.

Learners will be designing their own experiment. They should be supervised to ensure they follow appropriate safety guidelines. Students will conduct their experiment outside of class time. If supervision or support is needed during class time, outschool policy requires adults to remain off-camera. Learners will be using Nearpod. They will need to click a link in chat and enter their first name or initial. No other identifying information is collected.
