課堂經歷
Chess naturally encourages the development of the three main executive functioning skills: planning ahead, impulse inhibition, and flexible thinking. Students practice these skills as they develop a plan, consider their options, and adapt to their opponent's plans. This class focuses on the propagation of those skills through a natural learning environment while having fun playing games. This class is designed for students who can already play chess with any level of skill. Players should know the names of the pieces, how they move, and the layout of the chess board. In this learner-driven class, we will meet each week to casually play chess and develop our chess skills. Each class will begin with a mini-lesson that includes both chess and executive functioning skills. These lessons will be developed in response to play patterns and mistakes observed within the class. This class is taught by an Autistic/Neurodivergent adult and designed for the inclusion of neurodiverse students. Class for ages 10-13: https://outschool.com/classes/stress-free-chess-team-play-and-develop-executive-functioning-with-mr-malikai-B6P3U3T9#usbZ2hUoAf

父母的引導和規範
In order to play chess together, we use Google Jamboard. This requires learners to click a link in chat. On the Jamboard, Learners are responsible for keeping track of their own turns and this does require a greater level of focus, skill, and responsibility than playing on a dedicated chess website. Some younger learners may need support practicing Jamboard manners.
供應清單
Learners using iPads may need to download the free jamboard app before class.
