The topics covered include the difference between needs and wants, comparison buying, and analysis of advertisements. The class is structured with a focus on discovery learning through activities that help students identify essentials and items they desire, how to consider alternatives before making a final purchase, and to analyze advertisements from both video and written text...
Students will learn to carefully consider alternatives before making purchase decisions by applying math skills to compare possible alternatives, recognizing the difference between needs and wants, and identify the pros and cons found in newspaper, magazine, and television advertisements.

Students will be asked to bring sample newspaper or magazine advertisements to class and to watch a television advertisement to analyze for time length, a description of the advertised item, the facts presented (price, color, size, etc.), and opinions or product reviews.1 - 2 每週課外時間
