軍事理論101

This class is meant to introduce students to the great thinkers of Military History who codified influential strategic principles. As a One-Time class students will encounter the major theorist, his major work, his main concepts and his impact on the conduct of warfare. For example, students will learn about Carl von Clausewitz who fought against and with Napoleon - this experience allowed him after the wars to write about Napoleon's "genius" for warfare in his book Vom Krieg (On War). So influential were Clausewitz's ideas that they formed the basis for the strategic thought in both world wars. Thus a better understanding of Clausewitz provides the student with a better capacity for understanding the conduct of the wars. These profound concepts are the basic building blocks for understanding Military History - Ancient to Modern.
