課堂經歷

Why learn cursive writing?

Studies have shown that cursive writing stimulates the brain in ways that typing does not, and helps develop fine motor skills. Students who learn cursive writing tend to write more words, write faster, and express more ideas when writing by hand than by keyboard.

In this one time class, students will be introduced to the main rules of writing in cursive writing. The teacher will introduce each lower case letter and students will have opportunities to practice each of the letters, combining the letters to make short words and work on writing their first names.

Engagement and interaction are key components in this fun and informative class.
學習目標

Welcome! I am thrilled you're here!

As Child and Youth Counsellor with over 2 decades of experience working with young people, I am deeply committed to supporting children and youth's mental health, well-being, and life skill development.

My heart is full when I see young learners engage with topics related to social-emotional learning, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning skills. With my expertise in these areas, I use engaging, fun, and unique approaches to create a safe, nurturing learning environment that helps learners thrive.

As a practitioner and coach, I specialize in supporting children and youth with ADHD and executive functioning skill challenges, as well as social-emotional learning using neuro-affirming approaches. My personal experience with ADHD (myself, my children and others within my family) has fuelled my passion for advocacy and inclusivity for all abilities.

In my classes, I strive to create a high level of interaction, engagement, and lots of fun! Using songs, stories, videos, games, scenarios, discussion opportunities, and visual aids, I connect the concepts with your child's learning style, providing them with the best possible learning experience.

I have a 4-year Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University (formally Ryerson) and a 3-year Child and Youth Worker diploma from Humber College. I am a Social-Emotional Learning Coach, Executive Functioning and Parenting Coach, and have recently started an all ADHD focused practice with various supports- ADHDified. I am TESOL certified and provide support to reluctant, and dyslexic readers as a Reading Coach, using the Reading Simplified method, and most recently, I can now say I am a published author!

As a proud mom of three wonderful children and a dog mom to a rescue pup, I understand the joys and challenges of family life. With empathy and compassion, I look forward to working with your learner to support their growth and development.

Thank you for considering me as your child's teacher.

Let's learn, grow and bloom together!
