每週 1-2 小時. As this is a flexible course, all student work will be completed outside of class, but students are welcome to set up an "office hour" meeting with the teacher to get additional help during the course!

Students will turn in a fully formatted MLA research paper. The teacher will provide feedback at every step and at every level. Student's needs will be met on an individual basis and students will be challenged no matter where they are in the process and no matter where their struggles.

In this six week class, students will learn how to conduct their own research to write a full MLA formatted research paper while choosing the topic of their own choice. Students will work with argumentative topics and will choose from an approved list of topics (which will prove students with the opportunity to complete research on topics of their own interests while also challenging students to work with topics they might not have originally!

Each week students will be introduced to different researching skills on the first day of the week while using the second day to continue their research while implementing the new skills. The teacher will provide feedback at every step and at every level. Student's needs will be met on an individual basis and students will be challenged no matter where they are in the process and no matter where their struggles.

Since this is a flexible schedule, the following schedule includes all topics of focus, their activities, and peer to peer interactions which focus on providing and learning to give peer feedback while also practicing the weekly skills in a different format.

Week One, Days One and Two:
     - Introduction to Research and Expectations
     - Informational Packet Distributed and Discussed
     - Discussion of Topics and Choice of Topics
     - Student Interaction: 
          - Post Topic of Choice and Provide Feedback for One Other Student
Week Two, Days Three and Four:
     - Choosing Good Sources
     - Note-Cards/Note-Taking
     - Introductions and Hooks
     - Developing a Thesis Statement
     - Continued Research
          - Finishing Previous Skills and Activities
     - Student Interaction: 
          - Post Your Hook and Rewrite Another Student's Hook for Practice
Week Three, Days Five and Six:
     - MLA Citations for Sources
     - Setting Up a Works Cited
     - Continued Research
          - Finishing Previous Skills and Activities
     - Student Interaction: 
          - Complete a Mid-Week Check and Share to the Group Discussion
Week Four, Days Seven and Eight:
     - Writing an Introduction
     - In-Text Citations
     - Embedding Quotes
     - Developing Paragraphs
     - Student Interaction: 
          - Choose a Paragraph and Peer Review Another Student's Example Work
Week Five, Days Nine and Ten:
     - In-Text Citations
     - Embedding Quotes
     - Developing Paragraphs
          - Finishing Previous Skills and Activities
        - Student Interaction: 
          - Post Your Outline and Peer Review Another Student's (Review Walk-Through Provided)
Week Six, Days Eleven and Twelve:
     - Teacher Feedback and Editing/Reviewing
     - Turning in Papers for Final Feedback
     - Presentation of Ideas to Peers
     - Student Interaction: 
          - Post a Short 1 - 3 Minute Video of Your Essay and What You Learned about Your Topic
