Welcome to "Money Masters," a thrilling 7-week math course designed for first and second graders to embark on a captivating exploration of money. This hands-on adventure is carefully crafted to introduce young learners to the fascinating world of coins and bills, enabling them to develop essential skills in counting, identifying, and understanding the value of different denominations. 

Schedule:
Week 1 - Money: Identify Penny and it's value
Week 2 - Money: Identify Nickel and it's value
Week 3 - Money: Identify Dime and it's value
Week 4 - Money: Identify Quarter and it's value
Week 5 -  Money: Solve real-world/story problems using dollars and coins
Week 6 - Money: Solve word problems using dollars and coins
Week 7 - Money: Solve story problems using dollars and coins

Throughout the course, students will also engage in age-appropriate games, puzzles, and collaborative activities that reinforce core money skills. These activities will encourage interactive money scenarios, providing practical contexts for applying their newfound knowledge.

Join us on this exhilarating 7-week journey as we empower first and second graders to become confident money masters. By the end of the course, students will possess a solid understanding of different coins, their values, and their significance in our daily lives. They will acquire essential skills in counting, identification, and basic financial literacy, setting a strong foundation for their future financial success.

Interaction in this Flex Class:
Students will receive links to virtual games that they can play.

Each week students will be prompted to share pictures to the classroom of any problems that they have solved using manipulatives.  

Each week students will receive worksheets with money problems that they will turn in to the teacher by the end of the week.  The teacher will check and provide feedback on these worksheets.  

This is a Flex class; therefore, there will be no live meetings. Lessons will be provided via video recording.
