美國 Pre-Kindergarten 年級
In this one-time class, students will practice early math skills, such as number sequencing and one-to-one correspondence, while having plenty of opportunities to move their bodies through a series of low-demand superhero themed motions. We will begin class with a hello song to greet each student by name, then take a few minutes to share any superhero toys, books, or costumes that young learners may have chosen to bring to class for the day. We will warm up our bodies, then move into a series of superhero themed counting slides, with the option to move our bodies and act out our super powers! Class will end with a brief cooldown and discussion about our favorite superhero moves of the day. I value an emergent teaching style, in which I respond to student interests and preferences as much as possible during the course of each session. As such, the order and content of each activity may be modified to ensure that each young learner is as developmentally supported and intrinsically motivated as possible.
學習目標
Students will practice turn-taking and conversational skills.
Students will practice sequencing numbers.
Students will practice one-to-one correspondence with opportunities for both visual and kinesthetic support.

***Costumes are welcome! Please note that all costumes must be age appropriate and secular (non-religious). Any costumes will be vetted by the instructor to ensure that they meet these Outschool standards.
***Masks are welcome! However, masks should be removed for identification during the first four minutes of class to meet safety and privacy policies.
***Please note: For optimal safety during the movement portions of our class, families should ensure students are prepared with the following:
-an open space, free of obstacles, for movement
-closed toe shoes, socks, or bare feet (no sandals or flip flops, please!)
-a water bottle
-family supervision, if family feels it is necessary
***There will be opportunities for moving our bodies to low-demand superhero-themed exercises throughout the class session. Students are welcome to draw their favorite superhero, help out with super sound effects, engage in fingerplays, or participate in another way that feels comfortable for them instead if they so choose!

碩士 在 教育 從 Wheelock College
I hold my MS in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College at Boston University, and I am professionally certified in Early Childhood, Moderate Disabilities, English as a Second Language, and Sheltered English Immersion in the state of Massachusetts. I have ten years of teaching experience at the early childhood level in a wide variety of racially, ethnically, linguistically, and neurologically diverse settings--lab, private, public, home-based, non-profit, co-op, and virtual--throughout the Greater Boston area.
As co-founder of the National SEED Project Emily Style so adeptly summarized in her 1988 essay "Curriculum as Window and Mirror", curriculum should function "both as window and as mirror, in order to reflect and reveal most accurately both a multicultural world and the student herself or himself". This means that it is intrinsically important for ALL educators--including those who may not be members of a marginalized group themselves--to expose every student, regardless of their personal identity markers, to a multiplicity of cultures and ways of being in the world. To ensure that I am up to this crucial task, I have continuously pursued and successfully completed the following graduate-level coursework related to multicultural, multilingual, inclusive, and antiracist instruction over the past seven years:
* Racial and Cultural Identities-Wheelock College at Boston University
* Introduction to Inclusive Early Childhood Education Settings-Wheelock College at Boston University
* Effective Sheltered English Instruction: Second Language Acquisition-Wheelock College at Boston University
* Impact of Special Needs: Early Childhood-Wheelock College at Boston University
* Mathematical Learning for Diverse Learners-Wheelock College at Boston University
* Becoming a More Equitable Educator: Mindsets and Practices-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
