Math is often taught with rote memorization and lots of repetitive pencil and paper assignments. Most learners are never exposed to the deeper insight math can give us into the world. In this class your child will learn about a natural phenomenon known as Fibonacci's sequence, how it's found in nature, and how it can be used by us. Students will learn about Fibonacci's sequence by watching a PowerPoint slideshow, participating in discussion with Kelly about where Fibonacci's pattern can be found, completing some basic addition problems to apply the sequence, and learn a math "trick". I will model the way to build the Fibonacci sequence and then allow learners to tell me what number will come next so learners are guided through the process of creating Fibonacci sequences. I look forward to teaching you!
