시험 준비를 위한 글쓰기: 글쓰기 연습과 독해 능력 향상

In this one-on-one class, learners will prepare with their teacher for the writing portion of their annual tests, state standardized tests, and/or national exams. Whether your student is preparing for B.E.S.T. in Florida, MCAP in Maryland, the NAEP, or something in between, I'll work with you and your student to identify test standards and enhance exam mastery. 

This writing-intensive class is customized to test need and age level and covers preparation for the writing portion of exams and tests only. Students may be taking the test for the first time, preparing to improve on exams, or re-taking an exam or test for a better score. In this course, learners and parents provide information about the test they are going to prepare for, along with any examples of past writing or exams they've taken in this area. Rubrics and writing samples are welcome. 

This test prep classroom environment is positive and inviting, yet specifically structured to meet test prep goals. Please note that homework is assigned in this class, including reading books and passages applicable to test needs and age/grade level. Students will be expected to write prompts for homework to discuss in class. Examples of work during class time include reviewing written work, editing essays, discussing writing and literary techniques, discussing the tests and rubrics, and writing shorter pieces. 

Depending on the age and test, students can be expected to spend 30 minutes- 2 hours per tutoring week on reading or writing homework. 

Students will be able to review rubrics and test prep materials on-screen with the teacher. I may ask for you to provide or scan-in writing assignments and attachments before class. This class is interactive, meaning that you will receive lesson plans, homework, and messages from me on a regular basis. This class is best suited for parents and learners who want a collaborative style with their teacher and wish to spend at least 1.5 hours per week on their writing needs.
