(This class is for students who know the alphabet and know how to write the alphabet.)
Each week the students will be shown a different list of sight words. The class will read and practice the sight words together. Then each student choose a sight word off of the list and create a sentence with the sight word. The teacher will write the sentence down and the students will copy the sentence down onto their paper. All students will read the sentence back to the teacher.  This activity will be repeated several times.  By the time class is over, the learner will have several sentences written on their paper that they can read back to their family. This class does not spend time "sounding out words." If the teacher deems it appropriate, some phonics time may be spent in this class, but overall this is a sight word recognition class. Message the teacher with any questions. 
Prerequisite to this class: Students must be able to recognize and write letters down on paper without help.
