Class Experience

Boost focus, creativity, confidence, and emotional intelligence through movement! This active, brain-based class introduces students to psychology-inspired concepts along with tools from neuroscience, performance science, and mindset training—all taught through fun, dance-inspired activities. No dance experience needed!

In today’s fast-paced world, learners need more than academics to succeed—they need mental power skills like attention, emotional regulation, and resilience. This movement-based class helps tweens and teens build those tools while staying engaged, expressive, and energized.

Designed by a professional performer with a degree in psychology and a published author on mental skills for dancers, this course invites curious minds and energetic learners to discover how movement boosts brain function and life skills—through science-backed, age-appropriate lessons that stick.

🎓 Class Experience
✅ What will be taught?
Students will explore introductory psychology concepts along with research from related fields such as neuroscience, emotional learning, and performance psychology to build:

Focus and attention

Memory and recall techniques

Confidence and self-expression

Emotional awareness and regulation

Creative and critical thinking

Growth mindset and resilience

✅ What topics will you cover?
Each session features a new “mental skill,” connected to brain-based science and taught through creative movement. Topics may include:

Memory tricks and why movement helps memory

How attention works—and how to train it

What confidence feels like in the body and mind

Recognizing and regulating emotions

How creative problem-solving builds stronger brains

Turning mistakes into learning opportunities

✅ How is your class structured?
Each 30-minute class follows a predictable yet playful structure:

Warm-Up Game – Kick things off with a fun movement-based brain booster

Mental Choreography – Learn and discuss the week’s mental skill concept

Performance Activity – Apply the idea through creative games or movement

Cool Down & Reflection – Wrap up with discussion, journaling, or goal-setting

Class sizes are intentionally small (usually 1–3 students) so each learner gets meaningful interaction, feedback, and support throughout the class.

✅ How will you teach?
My teaching style blends movement, mindfulness, and motivation with an evidence-based approach. I use:

Dance-inspired activities to activate learning

Slide visuals to anchor each topic

Fun challenges and games to help practice new skills

Open discussion and personal reflection to make lessons stick

Psych-based strategies drawn from my book The Secret Dance Technique

This is a hands-on, get-up-and-move class—designed to help kids feel empowered, not lectured.

✅ What’s your teaching style?
My approach is:

Supportive and student-centered

Creative, body-based, and playful

Focused on skill-building, not perfection

Ideal for high-energy learners

Every learner is encouraged to move at their own pace, express ideas freely, and grow their mindset through experience.

✅ How much will learners get to interact?
A lot! Students will:

Share ideas in group and pair discussions

Respond to movement prompts

Play games with me and each other

Receive individual encouragement and real-time coaching

Reflect on personal goals and experiences

🔎 Note: This is an educational class inspired by psychology, neuroscience, and performance training. It is not clinical therapy or mental health treatment.

✅ Why Choose This Class:
Unique blend of psychology, neuroscience, and movement

Active, hands-on learning—great for kinetic and curious kids

Small class sizes for personalized support

Great fit for families who value SEL, creativity, or unschooling
