In this 10-week class, we will take an introductory look at psychology, its theories, and famous people in the field. We will cover these topics by using google slides presentations, short video clips, class discussion and Kahoot review. I teach in an interactive way and love involving students in discussion. I have a Bachelor if Arts degree in Child Development and a minors in psychology and family development. I am excited to share my love for psychology and human development with students....
Students will have a basic understanding of the field of psychology and some of its major theories.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development with minors in psychology and family development from the University of Akron. I am a Certified Child Life Specialist and have experience working in a hospital setting with children and adolescents. The role of a child life specialist is to provide evidence-based, developmentally and psychologically appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation for procedures, and education to reduce fear, anxiety, and pain. Child life specialists are trained in the developmental impact of illness and injury.
