ジュニー B ジョーンズと臭いバス (第 1 巻)

Does your student need practice with reading and utilizing reading comprehension skills? If so this class is for you! In this class, we will focus on fluency, reading comprehension, character traits, vocabulary, setting, theme, characters, and main idea. 

Session breakdown:

Before each session, we will read "warm up" words to prepare for reading. We will then focus on vocabulary and discuss words and their meanings within the book. After vocabulary, we will then take turns reading in the book. While we read, I will ask comprehension question related to that weeks skill focus. Your student will not need to write anything unless you would like them to follow along with the warm up words and vocabulary. If so, I would be happy to post my PowerPoint.

For each session the goal is to read 3 chapters since they are so short. Your student does not need a copy of the book but it would be most beneficial. Each session we will have a different skill focus while we read. I will gear my reading comprehension questions to support this skill. There is no prior knowledge needed for this class.

Session 1: Main Characters, Setting, and Character Traits 
Session 2: Summarizing and Vocabulary Focus
Session 3: Comparing, Contrasting and Inference
