3年生の準備はできました！3年生の準備

Welcome to 3rd Grade Readiness!  In this class learners will meet 3x per week to ensure they are ready for 3rd grade.  This class includes writing skills, math concepts, science, geography and reading skills.  All taught material is concepts taught in 2nd grade.  This is a kind of crash course review for 2nd grade.  We will meet for 4 weeks so 12 total meetings.  Each meeting will cover a different concept and will all come with homework.  These aren't things that need to be done before the next class but rather sheets they can work on throughout the summer to continue going over their concepts.  

Wild and Unstructured Learning is a hands on company.  This class will have a lot of different hands on activities to reinforce their learning experience.  Here is a full breakdown of what we will go over throughout class together.

Week 1-
Reading- Read with expression
Science-Food Chains and Life Cycles
Writing-Writing legibly, using capitalization and punctuation correctly
Math- Addition and subtraction
Geography- Maps and Globes- Creating our own

Week 2-
Reading- Demonstrate comprehension by predicting outcomes
Science-Matter, Energy, Forces, Motion and Sound
Writing- Moving from invented spelling to more accurate spelling
Math- Understanding the patterns leading to multiplication
Geography- Continents and how to get there!

Week 3-
Reading- Decode words using cues from phonics, word order, and context
Science-Space and Technology
Writing- Paragraphs
Math- Simple fractions and geometry
Geography- Understanding distance

Week 4-
We will spend this week paying close attention to the areas we notice that could improve.  This week will be tailored based on the  previous 3 weeks. 

Each week learners will do different science experiments and make hands on geography art as well as really work hard on their reading and math.  This class is perfect for any student who is going to start 3rd grade concepts soon.
