2年生の準備はできました！2年生の準備

Welcome to 2nd Grade Readiness!  In this class learners will meet 3x per week to ensure they are ready for 2nd grade.  This class includes writing skills, math concepts, science, geography and reading skills.  All taught material is concepts taught in 1st grade.  This is a kind of crash course review for 1st grade.  We will meet for 4 weeks so 12 total meetings.  Each meeting will cover a different concept and will all come with homework.  These aren't things that need to be done before the next class but rather sheets they can work on throughout the summer to continue going over their concepts.  

Wild and Unstructured Learning is a hands on company.  This class will have a lot of different hands on activities to reinforce their learning experience.  Here is a full breakdown of what we will go over throughout class together.

Week 1-
Reading- Basic Story Structure (character, setting, problem, solution)
Science-Distinguishing between living and nonliving things
Writing-Write simple but complete sentences
Math- Adding and subtracting numbers up to 30
Geography- Maps and Globes

Week 2-
Reading- Decoding Skills/Sight Words
Science-Life science (plants, animals, habitats)
Writing- Begin to use “story language” in their own writing
Math- Solve basic word problems with the help of drawings, objects, and equations
Geography- Continents

Week 3-
Reading- Comprehension and Metacognitive Strategies
Science-Classification of animals and different animal habitats
Writing- When to use capital letters, commas, and periods
Math- Add three one-digit numbers
Geography- Bodies of water and Cardinal directions

Week 4-
We will spend this week paying close attention to the areas we notice that could improve.  This week will be tailored based on the  previous 3 weeks. 

Each week learners will do different science experiments and make hands on geography art as well as really work hard on their reading and math.  This class is perfect for any student who is going to start 2nd grade concepts soon.
