Draw fashion for goddesses from mythologies all over the world! Draw fashion for goddesses around the world for different situations, such as a ball or a slumber party. Students will take into account the goddess' abilities, associated colors, place of origin, and associated stories. It's okay if students don't know a lot about the goddess. I will show pictures and give a rundown of their looks, personality, abilities, and any relevant stories. We'll chat about them in class and look at some pictures. Additionally, there will be a document in the classroom available prior to each class that includes some information, stories, and pictures about each goddess. This is a great class for those interested in drawing fashion to learn to design for "the customer"- taking into account their wants and needs. Students do not need any prior fashion experience, but they might like to take Fashion 101 to learn the basics of fashion design here: https://outschool.com/classes/4dd1fa8b-bdf2-4b65-bc3e-feecc176473d?sectionUid=9b25ee03-b207-4315-aa6d-4906be5f7a3b#usgnLONkoY Schedule: Week of 1/9: Skadi (Norse Mythology) Week of 1/16: Mami Wata (African Mythology) Week of 1/23: Cliodhna (Celtic Mythology) Week of 1/30: Awilix (Mayan Mythology) Week of 2/6: Doendzowes (Iroquois Mythology) Week of 2/13: Aphrodite (Greek mythology) Old: Week of 9/7: Artemis (Greek) Week of 9/14: Banai (Hindu) Week of 9/21: Bastet (Egyptian) Week of 9/28: Hecate (Greek) Week of 10/5: Isis (Egyptian) Week of 10/12: Lakshmi (Hindu) Week of 10/19: Madame White Snake (Chinese) Week of 10/26: The Morrigan (Irish) Week of 11/2: Nephthsys (Egyptian) Week of 11/9: Nyx (Greek) Week of 11/16: Persephone (Greek) Week of 11/23: Poli’ahu (Hawaii) Week of 11/30: Week of 12/7: Sekhmet (Egyptian) Week of 12/14: Sol (Nordic) Week of 12/21: Ran (Nordic) Past Goddesses: Week of 7/12: No Class Week of 7/19: Yemoja (Nigerian) Week of 7/26: Athena (Greek) No Classes in August Week of 9/6: Amaterasu (Japanese Mythology) Week of 9/13: Eris (Greek Mythology) Week of 9/20: Serquet (Egyptian Mythology) Week of 9/27: Morgan La Fey (Arthurian Legend) Week of 10/4 : Artio (Celtic Mythology) Week of 10/11: Awilix (Mayan Mythology) Week of 10/18: Nike (Greek Mythology) Week of 10/25: Hel (Norse Mythology) Week of 11/1: Pele (Hawaiian Mythology) Week of 11/8: Nemesis (Greek Mythology) Week of 11/15: Maman Brigitte (Haitian Voodoo) Week of 11/22: Aje (Nigerian Mythology) Week of 11/29: Doendzowes (Iroquois Mythology) Week of 12/6: Skadi (Norse Mythology) Week of 12/13: Melusine (French Legend) Week of 1/3: Thalia, Melpomene, and Erato (Greek Muses) Week of 1/10: Clio, Euterpe, Terpsichore (Greek Muses) Week of 1/17: Calliope, Polyhymnia, Urania (Greek Muses) Week of 1/24: Meng Po (Chinese mythology) Week of 1/31: Aranyani (Hindu mythology) Week of 2/7: Aphrodite (Greek mythology) Week of 2/14: Idunn (Nordic mythology) Week of 2/21: No class; February Break Week of 2/28: Hemera (Greek mythology) Week of 3/7: Bellona (Roman mythology) Week of 3/14: Inanna (Mesopotamian mythology) Week of 3/21: Hestia (Greek mythology) Week of 3/28: Nang Kwak (Thai legend) Week of 4/4: Amanozako (Japanese mythology) Week of 4/11: Eostre (Germanic mythology) Week of 4/18: No class; Spring Break Week of 4/25: Epona (Gallan-Roman Mythology) Week of 5/2: Kisshoten (Japanese Mythology) Week of 5/9: Khione (Greek mythology) Week of 5/16: Echidna (Greek Mythology) Week of 5/23: Cliodhna (Celtic Mythology) Week of 5/30: Valkyrie (Nordic Mythology) Week of 6/6: Mami Wata (African Mythology) Week of 6/13: Hera (Greek mythology)

I have been teaching fashion design for over 6 years. I love to use established characters to help guide fashion, so it's like a mix of costume design and designing for a customer. My husband and fellow Outschool teacher actually developed "persona cards" for many goddesses and I have done this project many times with students in person. It's a fun way to learn a little bit about different mythologies.
