This is a 16-Week Semester Series. Classes will meet ONCE every week through the course of the curriculum. Students will embark on a journey through the intricacies of fashion illustration. Starting with the fundamental principles of anatomy, they will construct their croquis templates using the 9-head construction technique. Geometric shapes will be employed to build different body parts, ensuring anatomical accuracy. The students will progress from an axis line through the nine sections, adding muscles to create a realistic and well-proportioned croquis, which is the canvas for fashion design. Moving beyond croquis construction, students will explore the art of illustrating designer sketches, including runway-worthy looks. They will master step-by-step techniques for sketching, coloring, and detailing fashion designs. The course will cover everything from foundational layers and patterns to textures, shadows, and textile characteristics. By the end, students will possess the skills to craft their own unique designs and unleash their creativity in the world of fashion.
