As a holiday gift to all of my social studies students, I invite you to this history trivia challenge, in the style of Jeopardy! Jeopardy rules are: There are several topics with different values, ranging from $100-$500 (with $100 being easier questions and $500 being harder). Students pick their topic such as: Things that are Red for $200! Then, the answer is read. Students must raise their hand (using the Zoom function). The first to raise their hand can answer the question. If they get the answer wrong, someone else can try it. An example could be: Things that are Red for $200: (on the screen): Worn by American and British women during WWII because Hitler didn't like it. Students who know the answer can raise their hand, I will call on them, and they answer like a question like; "What is red lipstick?" It's okay if students are not familiar with Jeopardy- rules will be reviewed in the beginning and it's quick to pick up! Topics can include anything that has been covered in my history classes! This includes; important figures of the 18th-20th centuries, imperialism, WWII, communism, and any topic covered in the 6 degrees of separation class. This class is only open to students who have taken history classes with me and will be by invite only! The winner of each game session may choose between a $10 Amazon, Disney, or Outschool gift card, which will be delivered by Outschool message! However, fun will be had by all! Any extra class time can be used to discuss history. Two rounds of Jeopardy will be played and finish with Final Jeopardy. Scores will be tallied at the end. I may have a "class guest" (either my husband Phil Mahoney or my sister Jessica Quijano- both are background checked Outschool teachers) to keep track of scores. Rules include: -If you give an answer without being called on, you are out for the question and forfeit the question's points! -If you are wrong, you lose half the points of the question. -There will be 1 Daily Double in which the lucky student can place their wager. -There will be 1 Final Jeopardy in which all participants will place their wager in the chat, and then reveal their answers written on paper simultaneously.
