Welcome to Pre-Algebra! Each class does build so please be sure to review the prior weeks and have some knowledge on the lessons. Class Structure 5 minutes - Welcome 15 minutes - Teach content 15 minutes - Guided Practice with new content 10 minutes - Independent Practice with new content Throughout the entire class, many discussion questions will be asked in order to promote critical thinking, to help the students to relate to the lesson, and to introduce each topic within the lesson. This class is best for any student ages 12 to 15, or those students looking to practice the pre-algebra middle school math objectives or skills. Students do not need to know the concepts or topics of the class beforehand. Alternatively, the student can take notes in a notebook or on paper. 2. Please always bring paper and pencil with you to class. 3. A calculator is also required for some chapters. 4. A binder or folder is recommended to keep notes and worksheets organized.
