This course is designed to learn some key things about our Solar System and how to write an effective summary paragraph. This will help the students to practice their summary writing. These summaries will be added into the FlipBook Final Project. In addition, there will be a final project where the students will build their own version of the Solar System for week 12.Evaluación
The students will be assessed through their weekly summary writings. Sentence structure, spelling, and grammar will, also, be assessed. The final assessment will be assessed through the final project, the timeline.Calificación
Grades will be provided upon request. With that being said, after completing the coursework each week, please submit them to me. In turn, I will post the answers in the classroom for the student to review and self-reflect.Experiencia de clase

This is the multi-week class where students will be taught the basics of our Solar System. Some of the examples that will be included in the weekly course will include, but not limited to: Week 1 - The Solar System & The Milky Way Week 2 - Earth Week 3 - Sun Week 4 - Moon Week 5 - Mercury Week 6 - Mars Week 7 - Uranus Week 8 - Venus Week 9 - Saturn Week 10 - Jupiter Week 11 - Neptune Week 12 - Dwarf Planets Students will write a summary paragraph towards the end of class about what they learned in class. This course is designed to learn some key things about our Solar System and how to write an effective summary paragraph. This will help the students to practice their summary writing. These summaries will be added into the FlipBook Final Project. This course is designed to educate students about our Solar System. Possible external sources could include Nearpod for lesson content, unlisted YouTube videos from the teacher, Flipgrid for interactive video assignments, Kahoot for quizzes, Activity Learn for assignments, etc. Students are not required to have accounts. They will be provided links and then we'll complete the tasks. These tasks are for the lesson, comprehension, and interaction. We will use different methods of interaction between the student and the teacher. These methods will include Nearpod, Google Docs, and other relatable resources that would be beneficial each week. For example, students will be able to upload their weekly writing with Google Docs, copy & paste, or Microsoft Word and the teacher can help with revisions, ideas, grammar, spelling, comments, etc. Another example would be using Nearpod where students can complete polls (for example: Have you been so excited that you Towards the end of class, each student will write a minimum of a five sentence paragraph about the day's topic. This will help the students to practice their summary writing and allow for the teacher to assess the child's knowledge of the topic. In addition, students will share their summary in the classroom. Peer review will be allowed for those students who do not mind. If the student does not want to participate in a peer review, that will be fine. In addition, the students will be creating their own Solar System throughout the course. After each class, the student will create that week's topic to be added to their final project. For example, the week we learn about The Sun, the students will create The Sun through what ever art supplies or other types of supplies. During our 12th week, all students will present their final project of their versions of the Solar System by uploading pictures/videos and explaining their solar system. This 3D Solar System, along with a final FlipBook will be turned in for week 12. Students will receive feedback on the final project and final report within two weeks of the conclusion of the class and a certificate of completion will be provided.

Students will create their own version of the solar system. One option is to create a 3D model of the solar system. The students can use materials in the home. I do not want students to have to worry about costs of supplies. Some ideas to make planets include: balls, styrofoam, foil, etc. In addition, paint, crayons, or markers will be needed to decorate the planets. A box and some string/yarn to hang the solar system up in. The students have as much or as little creativity they want to work with. The other option that does not involve a cost for the solar system is to create a virtual solar system on the computer and label key facts about each planet. In addition, for the FlipBook Project, you will need a notebook or binder and paper, along with minimal art supplies.
