Vocabulario: ¡Diversión con palabras con Wordly Wise, libro 5! ¡ESL, EFL bienvenidos!

Wordly Wise is an excellent vocabulary program that gives students a wonderful introduction to new words! Using short but impactful activities, students will learn 15 new words each week. 
We will meet once a week and review all sections of each lesson weekly. Students must have their own copy of the 4th Edition Wordly Wise 3000 Book 5 workbook to participate in class. Book 5 is typically for Grade 5 students, but any learner between 9-12 years old is welcome to enroll.

** Lessons do NOT build on each other so students can attend any week as desired to accommodate different schedules.**

Various activities in the workbook include: completing sentences, using context clues to find the correct meaning, applying meanings, seeing connections between words, and also reading a story that uses all 15 words from the lesson. Lesson activities A-D are short, to keep students interested, and are often multiple-choice. Lesson Activity E consists of the reading passage and comprehension questions which we will complete in class together.

Weekly Class Activities:
* Correct homework answers from previous week's lesson for Activities B-D, beginning in Week 2.  Students will complete activities B-D BEFORE class as homework.
* Read definitions and discuss each of the 15 NEW vocabulary words for the next lesson.
* Teacher will model pronunciation and usage of the word including its part(s) of speech in example sentences.
* Students and teacher will complete Section A together in class.
* Students and teacher will read the current week's reading passage aloud and discuss.
* Play a Kahoot! game to check for comprehension and retention of word meanings.
* The new week's Activities B-D will be assigned as homework for students to complete before the next class.
