The Class Structure: This course is made up of four different classes. 🌟Each class will have interactive elements to keep the students engaged, and to ensure that they are understanding the material. In our first section, students will participate in quick icebreaker questions to open the conversation. Learners will then begin learning the psychological definitions of positive self-talk, negative self-talk, our conscious thoughts, and our unconscious thoughts. Once we understand our thought process, our next courses will cover a variety of tools to help combat low self-esteem and negative self-talk. In the next three courses, we will discuss the positive effect that gratitude, our community, and addressing our emotions can have. 🌟Students will be given worksheets for weeks 2-4 to go along with what they learn about in class. These worksheets will be a natural guide to putting into practice the tools that they learned. Parent Note: This course will not contain any kind of psychological analysis, or conduct any conversations the involve the learner in sharing personal emotions. I am a big advocate for therapy, and this course should not take the place of that. Rather, this course will give your learner tools and knowledge on how to shift any negative thought and make it positive.

Lección 2:
The Shift of Gratitude
In lesson 2, we begin to cover the variety of ways we can shift our self-talk. The first is gratitude.
Gratitude has a positive effect on our self-talk, and also on our emotional health, relationships, physical health, and brain activity. Robert Emmons, a positive psychologist, who studied the effects of gratitude on the brain says it "enriches the human life beyond what studies can show".
Students will be provided with guided gratitude journal prompts to practice independently.

Lección 3:
The Shift of Emotions
In lesson three, we cover how addressing our emotions shifts our self-talk.
Students will learn the variety of emotions through the psychology wheel of emotions. Being able to name the emotion you're feeling can sometimes be half the battle.
In this section, we will also cover a group of questions to ask yourself when you can't quite figure out how you're feeling, or why you're feeling the way you are. Students will be given a worksheet to practice using this tool at home, independently.

Lección 4:
The Shift of Community
In lesson four, we wrap up with one of the most important things to shift our self-talk, the community around us.
Our community and who we surround ourselves with is vital to our self-confidence, emotional health, and well-being. So, what makes a person trustworthy, or a good friend? Who are the people we can count on?

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Licenciatura en Psicología desde SouthEastern University
My goal as a teacher is to make each student feel seen, loved, appreciated, and encouraged throughout our class time. I desire each student to leave class feeling better and brighter than when they logged in. I believe in positive encouragement, and helping my students find their confidence in who they are, along with making sure they have fun during our time together.
I graduated with a bachelor's in Psychology, specifically focused on adolescent Psychology. Bringing this information into my classrooms helps me to connect with the students, grow their social abilities, understand where they are within their formative years, and create a more inviting and safe environment for every student to learn.
I have a bubbly, bright, and fun personality, and I love to spend time connecting with kids to help them grow. It is one of my greatest joys to get to teach.
