Class experience
First, we dance to "This Little Light of Mine,” moving into yoga poses throughout the song. We let it snow after the song with some cotton balls and then make snowmen on our mats. Next, we practice meditation using the sound of a crystal bowl and follow with hot chocolate breath for pranayama. We focus on “the gift of listening” as we share our names and something we love about wintertime. At the end of class, during the closing circle we try to remember what others said. I am trained in “Kidding Around Yoga tm.” Kidding Around Yoga is a style of Yoga that was created by Haris Lender, ERYT 500, RCYT, YACEP. KAY encompasses the 5 branches of Yoga in a clear engaging method. A typical KAY class gets the children singing, dancing, skipping, marching, jogging, shaking, laughing, hopping, limbo‐ing, and storytelling ALL while practicing authentic Yoga to original KAY music. Yoga mat or towel Cotton balls
Make sure your child has a clear, open space to dance and move around in. Barefoot is best in this class. Bring a yoga mat or towel and a water bottle. Class includes the song “This Little Light,” by Kidding Around Yoga. It is meant to be a secular, yoga song, independent of any one religion in this yoga class. Kidding Around Yoga wrote and recorded their own custom song which includes yoga poses throughout.
