US Grade 3 - 4
This is part 3 of an intensive writing course that will take your student through an entire school year exploring narative, formal letters, descriptions, how-to articles, persuasive writing, creative writing and expository writing in a small group setting. Class will include instruction in the various types of writing, writing process from brainstorming to publishing. An opportunity to practice public speaking skills will given at the end of each writing project. Student participation is an integral part of this course and teacher will encourage each student to share their ideas with their classmates. Teacher will work closely with students to help them improve their writing skills. This course can be part of companion classes; Spelling Wizards and Grammar Sharks. Enrolling in all 3 of these classes would give your student a well rounded 3rd and 4th grade ELA curriculum. There will be a class beginning in June as well as one beginning in September. The 28 week class is divided into 4 parts of 5-8 weeks each to make it more manageable financially and for parents to select sections that best meet their student's needs. Also, when the company makes it available to all students, there will be an option of paying weekly . Learning Goals
Students will learn to write different types of essays, stories and articles.
Students will learn to use the writing process.
Students will develop public speaking skills as they present their work to their classmates.
Students will learn to give positive, encouraging feedback to their peers.
Other Details
Supply List
Student needs one spiral notebook or composition book for daily use and another one for publishing their work. Student needs pencil for each class. Additional supplies may be listed in class notes for specific classes.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a retired elementary teacher with experience in public, private and homeshool environments. I absolutely love teaching this age group of students and watch them develp good communication skills through writing and public speaking.
