Class Experience

What have you been up to this summer?
This class will help you write about just that through a prompt and the use of high use sight words as you write 1-2 paragraphs.

During this class, students will receive a handout with a writing prompt along with many different high frequency sight words that they may see while they are reading and writing at the 1st, 2nd and even 3rd grade level. Having these words available to them during the class and while they are writing helps them better prepare their paragraphs and allows them to focus on what they want to say and not worry about if they are spelling the word correctly, they have it there for them.

So join me for this impromptu prompt writing class! I can't wait to hear what everyone has been up to this summer!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their writing skills by using high frequency sight words, and their writing skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I’m Stephanie and I am a wife and a mom to a teenage daughter. I have been working with children for over 20 years in a variety of roles and graduated with a degree in Education. I have assisted teachers in Head Start classrooms to being a lead teacher in a preschool classroom. I also work in an elementary school setting with wonderful students who need a little extra one on one help in reading, writing and math.
All students learn at a pace that is right for them. Education is a not a one size fits all and this past year I had the great experience of working online with students to really focus on just that! We focused on what worked for them when it was our time to work together, if what we tried one time didn't work, we tried something else the next. Learning should be fun, therefore, making sure the students aren't struggling is key!
One bonus of working from home this past year was having a talking parrot who always enjoyed being a part of the class. He didn't always get the right answer but usually got a laugh out of the kids!
I look forward to working with you and your family!
