Using the Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum, we will be learning to write Informational Writing text through the lens of middle school social studies and science topics. We will be using graphic organizers to write 5 paragraph essays.

The instruction and interaction will take place through a series of video lessons on Zoom and Seesaw. Students will be able to upload videos, pictures, files and comments for interaction with the teacher and other students. I will comment on each activity that students complete in writing, audio, and video. In some of my lessons, I will record videos giving feedback for student writing. Online articles and videos will be provided. In addition, we will be using the book, "March On! The Day My Brother Martin Changed The world". This is available on Amazon, and as a downloadable video on Youtube. Also, highlighters and post its would be helpful for note-taking. Students will also be able to use any non-fiction books they are using in their own social studies and science curriculum.
