Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
*This 12-week class, students are welcome to join or leave on any given week. At the end of the 12 weeks, this class will repeat back to week 1.*

In this course, students will be engaged for 30 minutes each week on how to sound out words using long vowel word families. Students should have a basic understanding of letters and their corresponding sounds before taking these classes. The class will focus on specific word family words. Students will practice the sound of the word family ending. Next, students will think of a beginning sound to add to the word family ending to create new words. As we are creating, students are encouraged to write new words. They will also practice by playing interactive games and listening and singing to a word family song.
