In this ongoing class, math is fun! We bring grades 3-5 math to life through fun and educational number talks, videos, and both online and hands-on activities, puzzles, and games. Learners will explore and deepen understanding of not just how to do math problems, but why it matters and how math is all around us. Ongoing Schedule: Class 5/2: Fractions Using the Number Line Class 5/9: Line Plots with Fractional Measurements Class 5/16: Equivalent Fractions Class 5/23: Compare Nonequivalent Fractions Class 5/30: Add and Subtract Fractions with Like Denominators *Based on enrollment and interest for the summer months, June-August class topics will be posted in May and will include: Add and Subtract Fractions with Unlike Denominators, Multiplying Fractions by Whole Numbers, Multiplying Fractions by Fractions, Division with Unit Fractions and Whole Numbers, and more. Note: Through my business, Beautiful Math Minds LLC, I have contracted for permission to integrate Generation Genius into my classes and private tutoring. Each student enrolled in this course is provided access to any and all learning materials used for no additional cost.

Learners will learn about grades 3-5 math standards such as: Rounding to the Nearest 10 and 100, Rounding to the Nearest 1000 and Beyond, Intro to Decimals (Tenths and Hundredths), Decimals to the Thousandths, Solving Problems with Decimals Using Models, Fractions Using the Number Line, Line Plots with Fractional Measurements, Equivalent Fractions, Compare Nonequivalent Fractions, Add and Subtract Fractions with Like Denominators, Add and Subtract Fractions with Unlike Denominators, Multiplying Fractions by Whole Numbers, Multiplying Fractions by Fractions, and Division with Unit Fractions and Whole Numbers

Parental Guidance
Through my business, Beautiful Math Minds LLC, I have contracted for permission to integrate Generation Genius into my classes and private tutoring. Generation Genius, Kahoot, and Quizizz, and BrainPOP will be shown through screen-share during class. No individual accounts are needed. However, I will share a link after each class with optional activities like re-watching the Generation Genius videos and retrying the online games/quizzes which students can do on their own. Students will only be able to access the information shown while in class. Again, no individual student accounts are needed to access these materials.
Supply List
No materials required, but learners may benefit from having a notebook and pencil or a whiteboard with markers.
