Have you always been curious about what happens when you dial 911? You may see the police cars, firetrucks, and ambulances rushing to the scene. However, you want some deeper insight on what happens behind the scenes. Who better to learn from than an EMT with years of experience. In this class, we will explore the emergency response system (EMS) and all the components. We will also be exploring the duties, responsibilities, and career paths. Additionally, I will share my personal experiences with patients. We will also be completing a hands on activity that will allow students to apply what they have learned. If you are interested in working in pre-emergency medicine, this may open your eyes to different career options. Week 1: The Parts of the EMS System (different careers) Week 3: What happens when you call 911? Week 3: EMS Equipment, Medical Terminology, Fun Facts Week 4: Storytime + Interactive group activity **Times will vary*** ****NOTE: This class is not intended to provide medical instructions or advice. This is only for informational purposes regarding different careers/duties of the emergency response system****
