In this class students will learn how to draw and paint a festive gingerbread man in watercolor. We will go over multiple techniques such as such as wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry on dry. Students will also learn how to create a simple, impressionistic background in addition to how to add glitter to a watercolor painting. Everyone paints at their own pace, so I will remain 15 minutes after each class to help any students that fall behind. I will be using Arches 100% cotton, 140lb cold...
1. Pencil 2. Eraser 3. Watercolor paper: I will be using Arches 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper. I will be using a 4”x9” sheet of paper which I will fold in half for a 4”x4 1/2” card 4. Water cups: 1 for clean 1 for dirty water 5. Paint brushes: 1 large round tip brush, 1 medium round tip brush, 1 small detail/liner brush 6. Paper towel/rag: for cleaning our brushes 7. Paint colors: Yellow, brown, red, pink, and green 8. Palette: Most watercolor palettes have one built in, if yours does not, a glass/plastic/ceramic bowl or plate will work just fine 9. Masking, painters, or Washi tape Optional supplies: 10. Glitter: Any and all colors and shapes welcome 11. Glue to attach glitter to the gingerbread man 12. Old paintbrush to help apply glue 13. Rhinestones and/or sequins 14. Blowdryer: To speed up the drying process 15. Scrap paper for testing colors 16. 1 Stiff, coarse brush for adding texture
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
