Beginner Level
In this three day camp we will be learning all about the joys of painting with watercolors. We will explore how watercolours work and different techniques: salt sprinkles, plastic wrap, wet on wet, wet on dry. Really working on exploring different techniques and the results you can get. This is a perfect camp for learners who love art but struggle with drawing what they see accurately, as well as learners who are eager to explore all the things that can be done with watercolour. This is a low pressure, exploration type class, where we follow learners interests. This is a hands-on class where I provide suggestions and guidance. Learners are encouraged to share their pieces as we go along, but sharing is never a requirement. If you have a shy learner who doesn't want to be asked to share, please let me know in advance. In class 1 we will play around with our paints to see how to get different effects. We will sprinkle salt, we will splatter and add cling wrap, as well as creating backgrounds and mixing colours In class 2 we will be painting landscapes by adding colours and finding the hidden shapes created by the paint In class 3 we will be painting trees, winter trees, small trees on our landscapes, and trees with lots of leaves

The learning goal here is to gain confidence using watercolors and in your own abilities. To have fun and develop a joy in creating.

Watercolour paper, can be 4" X 6" cards 4-6 per class or an art pad, I recommend Canson 90 llb watercolor paper 8X10 Watercolor paints Paint brushes Salt Cling wrap A spritz (spray) bottle Painters tape (blue or green from home depot)
