Welcome to Colorful Connections Book Club for kids ages 5-9! Join us as we develop a love of reading and build self esteem and connections through books that star people of color as their main characters. In this book club meeting, learners will listen to the read aloud of the book "Wash Day" by Tiffany Golden. I will share my screen to display the book, so it is not required for learners to have a copy of the book to participate. Learners are welcome to bring their wash day hair products to share with others. After the read aloud, the following topics will be discussed as learners complete the activity handout. - parts of a book - author and illustrator definitions - characters - plot - vocabulary - text-to-self connection The activity handout will be included in the welcome email to print before the book club meeting.
