Power Skills for the 21st Century—Taught Through Movement

In today’s fast-changing world, success isn’t just about academics or talent—it’s about the mental skills that help kids stay focused, adaptable, and confident. With AI and technology changing everything around us, creativity, emotional intelligence, and resilience are more essential than ever. These are the real power skills of the 21st century.

As a professional dancer, I didn’t just train my body—I trained my mind. These tools helped me stay grounded, bounce back from setbacks, think creatively, and perform under pressure. Now I’m here to help your child build the same mindset through fun, movement-based learning.

This class uses dance-inspired activities to strengthen brain power. When we move, we learn better—it activates memory, boosts focus, and helps concepts stick. Students won’t just sit and listen—they’ll move, reflect, and apply what they learn right away.

No dance experience needed—just energy and curiosity!

💡 What Will Be Taught?
In this upbeat, movement-based class, learners will strengthen key life skills including:

✅ Focus and attention
✅ Memory techniques
✅ Confidence and self-expression
✅ Emotional intelligence
✅ Creative thinking
✅ Growth mindset and resilience

🌟 Why Choose My Classes? 🌟
My classes are intentionally kept small to ensure each student gets personalized attention, so they feel supported and confident throughout the lesson. Some sections are especially small—only 2 students—which allows me to truly focus on each child's unique needs and progress. This is a fantastic opportunity for kids who thrive with extra guidance, creative exploration, or an unschooling-friendly approach that supports learning through play, movement, and self-discovery.

📚 What Topics Will You Cover?
Each week highlights a new “mental skill” and explores it through body-based activities:

✅ Memory Boosters – Fun tools to learn and remember faster
✅ Focus Games – Activities that improve attention span
✅ Confidence & Self-Expression – Speak up and move proudly
✅ Problem-Solving – Creative challenges for quick thinking
✅ Emotion Awareness – Learn to identify and manage feelings
✅ Resilience – Celebrate mistakes and keep going

🎭 How Is the Class Structured?
The format is inspired by a dance class, with interactive, predictable routines that help kids stay engaged:

✅ Warm-Up Game – Interactive intro & movement to build energy
✅ Mental Choreography – Step-by-step learning of the week's skill
✅ Performance Activity – Movement challenge or group game
✅ Cool Down & Reflection – Guided discussion and goal setting

🧠 How Will You Teach?
I use an active, creative teaching style grounded in research. Students will:

✅ Move and learn through body-based activities
✅ Use visual slides to reinforce new ideas
✅ Work in small groups or pairs during discussion time
✅ Play games and do creative movement projects
✅ Reflect and share ideas in a supportive space

No dance experience is needed—just come ready to move and try something new!

🤝 How Much Will Learners Interact?
A lot! Kids will:

✅ Talk and share ideas in group discussion
✅ Respond to questions and movement prompts
✅ Play games with each other and with me
✅ Receive individual encouragement and feedback
✅ Join in a safe, fun, and expressive environment

I keep class sizes small to allow for lots of personal attention and interaction.

🌟 Why Choose This Class?
✅ Great for kids who struggle with focus, confidence, or self-expression
✅ Active learning keeps them engaged
✅ Builds emotional smarts and real-life skills
✅ Based on tools from my book The Secret Dance Technique
💡 Also great for families following unschooling or alternative education models who want creative, movement-based learning experiences.

📌 Perfect for energetic learners who love to move, think, and grow!

Learning Goals

Boost Creative Thinking – Students will practice generating multiple ideas and solutions through movement-based activities.
Develop Resilience & Adaptability – Learners will engage in challenges that encourage persistence, problem-solving, and a growth mindset.

Parental Guidance
While this class primarily focuses on mental exercises with minimal physical movement, there will be some light, dance-inspired activities. To ensure a safe environment, please provide: A small, open space free of obstacles for limited movement. Comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Proper footwear to prevent slipping. Although the movements are gentle, it's advisable for students to have a water bottle nearby and to perform light stretching beforehand to prevent any discomfort. Parental supervision is recommended to ensure safety during these activities.

I will supply any necessary materials.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with dual majors in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in Performance Psychology, with a minor in Dance. My teaching experience spans two years at an elementary school in Spain, alongside teaching dance across various U.S. states and to a global student base online.
