In this 4-week course, tweens will embark on a journey to build confidence, develop life skills, and discover the power of self-belief. This class is designed to be engaging, supportive, and interactive, helping learners feel empowered in both their personal and social lives. Through guided discussions, fun activities, and creative exercises, learners will practice positive affirmations, learn to communicate assertively, and gain tools to handle self-doubt and challenges. Activities like role-playing real-life scenarios and creating confidence toolkits will keep the class engaging and hands-on. My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and student-centered, designed to help every child feel seen, heard, and valued. Students will participate in group discussions, interactive activities, and individual reflections to build confidence and celebrate their progress. Learners will leave this class with practical tools to boost their confidence, communicate effectively, and embrace their unique strengths in a fun and supportive environment.

This class is based on my 17 years of teaching experience and incorporates strategies and tools designed to build confidence and self-esteem in children. Activities such as affirmations and role-playing are created by me, drawing from well-researched best practices in child development and education.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Arkansas Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education in College Student Affairs, both from Southern Arkansas University. I also completed coursework for my School Administration Licensure.
I have 17 years of experience as a first-grade teacher, during which I specialized in teaching foundational skills like reading, writing, and math while fostering self-confidence in learners. In addition, I have worked with children from kindergarten to 6th grade, tailoring lessons to meet their developmental needs. I am trained in multisensory phonics and the Orton-Gillingham approach, which has further equipped me to teach in engaging, accessible ways.
