Tinkercad 3D Design

This beginner-friendly course is all about 3D design in Tinkercad. Using Tinkercad, a free and easy-to-use online tool, students will learn to create their own 3D models, from simple shapes to detailed objects.

Throughout the course, students will develop essential design skills and gain hands-on experience with digital modeling. They'll explore how 3D design is used in popular programs like Roblox, Minecraft, and 3D printing, opening the door to game asset creation and real-world prototyping.

This class is learner directed. Students are welcome to build whatever they would like.

--Basic 3D Modeling Skills – How to create, manipulate, and combine shapes to build 3D objects.

--Designing for Games & Printing – How to make models compatible with Roblox, Minecraft, and 3D printing. (Optional)

Spatial Thinking & Problem-Solving – Understanding how objects fit together in a 3D space and troubleshooting design challenges.

Exporting & Sharing Creations – How to save, export, and use their designs for games, printing, or digital showcases. (Optional)

By the end of the class, students will have a portfolio of original 3D designs they can showcase, print, or even import into games. No prior experience is needed.

This class does not teach coding. You do not have to play Roblox or Minecraft to take this class. You do not need a 3D printer to take this class. The entire class is about 3D design in TinkerCad. TinkerCad is the only program used in this class. 

TinkerCad works best on a Computer. A Windows/ Mac/ Chromebook computer.
