In this class you will learn how to use a free resource ( Google) to manage your time with a technique called time blocking. Learning this skill leads to being more productive in your daily life.

The only homework will be to complete their schedule in google calendar and incorporate it into their personal life.

Class Experience

In class a Powerpoint presentation will be incorporated to show the students how to complete each step to setting up their Google calendar. We will cover how to block out specific times in your day for school, work, personal care, eating, sleeping, and fun time. Students will be able to interact with teacher and other students for suggestions on how to best block out their time. Class will be structured into the following categories: set up Google account and calendar, block out specific times for school work, chores and other personal items desired. We will also learn a couple added features of Google calendar like reminders, goals (android only). Students will be able to ask teacher, share their screen and get tips on how to best schedule out their time to be the most productive with their time. We will end with review and questions.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to set up a google account and calendar. We will cover how to set up multiple calendars (ex. school, personal, work) Blocking out specific times for personal care, school classes/assignments, work, breaks, sleep, eating, fun time. How to share with parents, teachers, and friends. Set up reminders for specific items (ex. school essay, pick up milk), goals (android,mobile only) for specific things you want to accomplish, and tasks. Review and questions time will be at the end to be sure students have all their questions answered.

Parental Guidance
Parents need to supervise and/or give permission for their students to have a google account for themselves, and be able to log in and use the apps available with a google account. Parents are welcome to sit with their student to learn these steps as well.

Students need to have either a computer/laptop, Tablet, or mobile phone (android) [I have limited knowledge with apple products]. 
If you are choosing to use a tablet or mobile phone for class, you do not need to have a computer. But it is recommended to use a computer/laptop when starting this because more options are available in the google calendar software on a computer.

I have helped others set up and maintain their schedules with work from home as a Virtual Assistant. I have helped multiple students with managing their schedules and scheduling appropriate amount of time for items that need to be completed. I have been personally using google calendar for my personal and work use for 10 yrs. I am available for tutoring after this class is taken to help each student with their specific schedule on a weekly basis.
