Class Experience
The student will be taught how to multiply multi-digit numbers through two strategies. One being area models and the other being partial products. We will begin with two digit by one digit factors and move towards two digit by two digit factors. My class is structured in an "I do" "We do" and "You do" format where I will give examples of the steps necessary to solve the problems. Next, the student will work with me on some problems in the same manner, and lastly work independently on the problems. My teaching style is very simple with visuals and steps as students tend to learn best with drawings/visuals and step by step directions.
