Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
In this one-time class we will learn about the foundations of modern particle physics. We will explore what the different particles are and how they interact. Learners will be introduced to important concepts in physics such as waves, particles, fields, and forces.

A solid understanding of particle physics will help learners better grasp many of the exciting discoveries of modern cosmology and space sciences.

We will investigate questions such as:

What is the Standard Model?
What is particle physics?
Why is it important?
What is the difference between a fermion and boson?
How do particles interact?
What are the fundamental forces?
Why is gravity not included?
What is a theory in science?

The class is lecture and discussion based. Learners will view and participate in a presentation full of images and some videos. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and think critically about modern physics!
