In this three-part course, students will dive into the fascinating world of surgery and explore the cutting-edge surgical technology used in the operating room, like robots! They’ll learn about the roles of various OR professionals, the essential tools and instruments for surgery, and the teamwork required to ensure successful outcomes and patient safety. This course is structured as an asynchronous learning experience, with the presentation covering various aspects of the OR. I’ll provide clear, engaging video lessons and interactive content that make complex topics accessible and interesting. Activities, quizzes, and worksheets will be provided to reinforce learning and ensure students can apply what they’ve learned in practical ways. There is also an escape room activity, where you can put your knowledge to the test! As a junior surgical assistant, you find yourself locked inside the OR after your team accidentally locked the door! Your mission is to escape by solving a series of puzzles based on your knowledge of the operating room. Each puzzle you crack gets you one step closer to freedom! Can you solve them all and make your great escape? Ideal for older kids and teens interested in becoming doctors, nurses, or other health professionals, this course offers hands-on learning and key insights into medicine and the human body. Start your healthcare journey today! My teaching style is focused on making learning engaging and self-paced, allowing students to explore topics in a way that suits them best. The content is designed to be informative and interactive, encouraging curiosity and independent learning. The interview with the OR nurse adds an exciting, real-world perspective to the learning experience. Learners can reach out to me anytime via messaging for questions, feedback, or additional support. While the course is self-paced, I’m available to provide guidance, clarify concepts, and help students with their learning journey through regular communication and feedback. Please note, this class does not provide medical training or medical services. This class is purely educational and provides a surface-level overview of the OR. It is not intended to offer medical advice, diagnose, or treat any conditions.
