Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten
Engaging kids in fun activities is key to help them through their reading and writing skills development. This class will help your kid increase their academic ability, while feeling excited about learning! Each class DOES NOT build from previous ones, so you can choose those topics that your kid enjoys or needs the most! Using the I do, You do, We do Approach, the student will have the opportunity to practice kindergarten skills. The teacher will encourage participation by asking prompting questions and will complete the lesson with an assessment game. Each class will follow the format: - Presentation of skill (why is it important) -Examples and supports -Independent practice -Games The topics/skills that will be discussed per week are as follows: Week of June 12th - Print Concepts: words, letters and numbers Week of June 19th - Phonological Awareness: syllables Week of June 26th - Reading Foundational Skills: short vowel sounds Week of July 3rd - Informative Text and Sequencing Week of July 10th - Language: Vocabulary and Sorting Week of July 17th - Stories with Lessons
