Style Me Math: Round to the Nearest 100

In this class, we will use fashion items for sale to learn how to round numbers to the nearest 100. We will discuss why rounding in useful and how and when to round up or down. Class will begin with rounding instruction and a short video. Next, we will practice rounding some fashion item prices and review our answers. Student will then have to choose what fashion accessories to buy based on two different budgets. Students will add hundreds in order to see what they can afford. Students will then draw a picture of themselves with the chosen accessories. If time  allows student will share pictures with class. 

My teaching style is to make learning fun and useful. This class would be great for students that enjoy shopping and fashion. Learners will have the chance to discuss with the teacher and other learners which items they like and dislike. No prior knowledge is needed for class.  This is based on 2nd grade curriculum/ 3rd.
