Class Experience
This class is Wilson Reading instruction for struggling readers. Wilson was deisnged for student with Dyslexia and reading difficulties. As a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles, WRS directly and systematically teaches the structure of the English language. The first class will be an assessment and then following classes with be beginning with Book one topics: cvc words, closed syllables. We will focus on the reading and spelling...
Students will be able to read and spell words in the English langauge.
I am trained in the Wilson program and have passed my Reading Specialist exam. I have also been teaching Special Education and struggling readers for over 7 years.
No homework, materials provided
notebook, pencil, whiteboard and marker
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be in class assessments at the beginning and end of the summer section.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
