Reading Assessment

In this class, I will give students an assessment in order to determine reading strengths and weaknesses. The assessment will include phonemic awareness, letter sounds and names, word reading, nonsense word reading, fluency, reading comprehension, listening comprehension and spelling. My teaching style is low stress. I like to remind students that this is just an assessment so we can find ways to improve their reading. This is a one to one class and no experience or reading instruction background is necessary. 

After class , within 48 hours I will provide a one page summary report of my findings to the parent, including recommendations and teaching resources/ideas.
