Body Doubling is commonly used by people with ADHD to help them focus on a task/get things done. It is where you have another person (or more than one) work alongside you! Anyone can use body doubling to make a task more fun, or help yourself get more motivated to do a task. Study Sprints offers body doubling for kids ages 8-12. Each session is 30 min long. In the first minutes of the class everyone will get a chance to set a study session goal. Learners can type their goals in the Zoom chat or say them. Then I will share a 20 minute timer (with a themed background) and everyone will mute and get to work on their study session goals. At the end of the session kids we will take 5 minutes for everyone to share their success. That way everyone can celebrate how much they got done. What to bring? Kids can bring any homework, or independent study work to Study Sprints. Some examples include math speed drills, journaling/writing practice, geography, spelling practice, worksheets, online curriculum videos, etc. Class Layout: 5 minute goal setting 20 minute study session 5 minute success celebration 2024 Class Schedule: November: Week 1: (November 4-8) No class this week! Hello! I'm Briann. Welcome to my classroom page! I hope you find something here you like. I started my journey Outschool teaching social classes. But if you look at my class listing offerings, you'll notice that I have expanded from that. I now offer three different types of classes.
Live Group Classes:
All of my live group classes are social classes. Each class offers breakout rooms so kids can get into small groups and build an online community of friends their own age. These classes are offered in the afternoons and work great as a recess break for homeschoolers or kids who just want extra time to talk and hang out in the summer. You can check out the various class themes below.
Self-Paced Classes:
The second type of classes I offer are self-paced extracurricular or problem-solving classes. You can find these in the self-paced tab below. These are niche classes that address particular topics, like how drugs and alcohol affect your brain or how to do long division. So, if your learner wants to know about something specific or is struggling with a particular concept of math, then take a look at these classes.
Groups
I offer several interesting groups that kids can sign up for. The groups are a mix of social and educational experiences and are paid for via monthly subscription. Groups don't have live meetings; instead, they are like private Reddit pages for kids! Kids can make posts, talk with others in the group via post chats, and even upload photos and videos. My most popular group so far has been my minecraft Java group that gives your learner access to the group board and a private Java server to build and explore.
