This class will meet on two different days for 45 minutes each time. Through class discussion and exploration of past practices, students will learn:
* What does and does not work in an effective study environment
* How the brain connects new and old material to create understanding and retention
* Various approaches to studying
* How to create and use memory aides
There will be no homework or assessment requirements for this class. Through email, I will also be available after the completion of the class for follow up questions.Learning Goals

2 Lessons
over 1 WeekLesson 1:
Preparing to Study
This first lesson will discuss how the brain stores information and what needs to be done to prepare an environment that is effective for studying. It will also discuss what to do physically and mentally to prepare for the study session. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Study Techniques and Memory Aides
The second session will continue to discuss how the brain retains information but will focus on how to use memory aides to remember information as well as various techniques for studying different types of information. 45 mins online live lesson
