Stop Motion Animation for Beginners 2-Day Starter Class

Are you looking for a way to create a stop-motion studio video? This class is perfect for your child! They will learn the necessary skills to create and edit a stop-motion video easily. Using the Stop Motion Studio Pro app; students will learn to take photos, set frames per second, use the timer, and other exciting features. Additionally, they will learn how to navigate the app and edit their video, including adding layers, fonts, backgrounds, and faces.

This 2-day class is designed to move quickly for people who can only commit to two classes.

Class 1:
It will cover what stop-motion is, setting up a scene, taking pictures in the app, frames per second, how to take photos, creating a title page, editing, adding sound, pausing, and editing the frames. Students will have 5-10 minutes to take pictures for their movie in class. We will have some time to share progress.

Class 2: In this class, you will learn about editing with audio and sounds, voice-over, filters, foreground images, backgrounds, pausing, copying, erasing, and other edits. We will finish our movies and review the material to become more confident in understanding how to edit videos. Students will complete their video and ask any questions that they may have about how to do something within the app. Students will be encouraged to share their stop-motion videos with the class. However, it is not required.

Important Information: This class is much easier for students using a second device. The most accessible devices are touchscreen phones and tablets.

PLEASE NOTE:   Students will need the Stop Motion Studio Pro App INSTALLED before class. You need the paid version of the app to participate in this class entirely.

Students will need to have the Stop Motion Animation Studio Pro version of the app. The app can be found listed in the class resources. This app does cost extra.
