  • 1. Understand Account Security: By the end of the class, students should be able to create strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication for their gaming accounts. 2. Privacy Savvy: Students should know how to adjust privacy settings on gaming platforms to protect their personal information. 3. Safe Communication: Teach kids to recognize and avoid talking to strangers online, and how to report and block unwanted communication. 4. Positive In-Game Behavior: Foster good sportsmanship, encouraging students to be respectful and kind to fellow players. 5. Time Management: Help students set time limits for gaming sessions and promote the importance of breaks and diverse activities. 6. Content Awareness: Ensure that kids can identify age-appropriate content and understand how to report inappropriate material. 7. Parental Involvement: Encourage open communication between students and their parents or guardians about online gaming experiences. 8. Cybersecurity Awareness: Teach kids to recognize and avoid online scams, phishing attempts, and the importance of software updates. 9. Online Etiquette: Promote positive online behavior and responsible gaming. 10. Empowerment: The ultimate goal is for students to feel confident and safe while enjoying online gaming, knowing how to protect themselves and seek help if needed.
I am a licensed teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I also hold a Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with STEAM Integration and a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning. I have 19 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings.
