This class will encourage engagement with the reading material. The goal is to create a flexible and fun setting where students can discuss the novel honing their analytical skills. Students will also be encouraged to participate in creative projects that help them connect with the novel. The course will be organized as a largely discussion based group, but I will present some supplemental materials including videos and reading guides/questions.

4 Lessons
over 4 WeeksLesson 1:
Entering Narnia
Chapters 1-4. This meeting will introduce students to Narnia and the main characters. Students will decorate their own wardrobe and imagine the fantasy world that is connected to it. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Good vs. Evil
Chapters 5-8. This meeting will focus on the themes of temptation, betrayal, and loyalty. Students will create a map of Narnia plotting key locations and events. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
The Great Battle
Chapters 9-13. This meeting will discuss Edmund's arc and the theme of forgiveness. Students will create a role play dialogue between two Narnia creatures who are discussing if they should join the White Witch or Aslan. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Victory
Chapter 14-17. This meeting will focus on the restoration of Narnia and themes of friendship and leadership. Students will write a letter to their past selves before their journey to Narnia detailing what lessons they've learned along the way. 55 mins online live lesson
